Hailey Guerra is a multi-instrumentalist with a specialty in woodwinds from Apex, North Carolina. She is active in the musical theatre scene as a pit musician, as well as an orchestral clarinetist. Alongside playing, Hailey is a marching band woodwind instructor in the Raleigh area.
She is currently in her fourth year pursuing a B.M. in Clarinet Performance at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. She primarily studies with Professor Eli Eban, but past instructors include Howard Klug and Gábor Varga in pedagogy and chamber music settings. She studied with multi-instrumentalist Wayne Leechford starting at the age of thirteen, continuing through high school.
Hailey has been a woodwind doubler in the pit for many musicals such as The Drowsy Chaperone, Curtains, Reefer Madness, Legally Blonde, and most recently, The Color Purple. She plays in the theatre pits of Indiana University’s Department of Theatre, as well as Raleigh Little Theatre. She can also be seen playing a variety of instruments for new music premieres in the Jacobs School of Music. Aside from theatre, Hailey has also played principal clarinet for the Singing Hoosiers in addition to many orchestra performances within Indiana University.
